Eco-Friendly Lodging for the Conscious Traveler on the Mendocino Coast

Conveniently located in the nicest neighborhood in historic Fort Bragg, the beautiful Living Light Inn (formerly The Colonial Inn) combines craftsman style architecture with modern amenities designed for the conscious traveler--organic bedding, a whole-house water filtration system second to none, non-toxic biodegradable and non-allergenic cleaning products, low impact waste practices, and all-organic beverages.

At the Living Light Inn, we honor the earth without compromising the comfort of our guests. We use "green" practices such as reducing electric output and waste, recycling and composting, and providing earth-friendly and fair-trade amenities.

Within moments of the Inn, one can find a wealth of fun outdoor activities: strolling on the beach, walking the bluffs, tide-pooling, discovering the beauty of the redwoods while hiking in one of our many local state parks and reserves, kayaking, scuba diving, golfing, miniature golfing, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing, including whales, seal lions, seals and many species of birds.

The quaint town of Fort Bragg offers our guests the historic Skunk Train, museums, antique shops, boutiques, indulgent spas, local wine and micro-brew tasting, and fine organic dining. Or visit the boutiques, galleries and gourmet restaurants in the Village of Mendocino, just 12 miles south.

The Colonial Inn was purchased in September 2006 by Living Light International and has been refurbished to cater to the needs of conscious travelers interested in quality eco-friendly lodging as well as to students of the Living Light Culinary Institute.
